The 2014 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards were met with a tremendous amount of excitement and record-breaking student participation. There were 255,000 original works of art and writing submitted to the 2014 Awards! Today we are happy to announce that more than 1,800 young artists and writers in grades 7-12 received National Medals! The full list of National Medalists can be viewed here: www.artandwriting.org/2014nationalawards.

The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards' National Celebration will kick-off in New York City on June 5, 2014, with all National Medalists invited to the first ever Maker Prom! On June 6, students, educators, families and friends will gather at Carnegie Hall to honor National Medalists at the 2014 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards National Ceremony. This special event will be webcast live for all to see! This weekend will also be the time to view hundreds of phenomenal works of art and writing at the Art.Write.Now. National Exhibition on display at the Sheila C. Johnson Design Center at Parsons The New School for Design and Pratt Institute's Pratt Manhattan Gallery.

Congratulations to all participants - submitting original art and writing takes personal courage!
